Georgetown University is a residential campus that is home to approximately 5100 undergraduate students living in 15 buildings that include: residence halls for first year and upper-class students, apartments, and townhouses. The Office of Residence Life works closely with partner offices such as Housing Services, Housing Operations, Facilities, and Public Safety to ensure that resident needs are met. The leadership team within the Office of Residence Life includes: a director, associate director, assistant director for programming and leadership, administrative and financial coordinator, 3 area coordinators, 10 hall directors, 89 resident assistants, 16 student assistants. We are also proud to support the leadership development of students involved in InterHall, Residential Judicial Council, ERASE (Educating Students About Social Equality), and Alumni Lounge Programming. Chaplains in Residence (26) and Faculty in Residence (5) further enrich the residential experience for our students.

OPEN POSITION: Associate Director of Residence Life
The Associate Director of Residence Life is responsible for the oversight of the day to day management of the department in conjunction with the Director and in her absence. The Associate Director's primary responsibilities include supervision and evaluation of the one Area Coordinator for upper class areas and the Financial and Administrative Coordinator, indirect supervision of ten (10) Hall Directors, selection of professional staff, implementation of the department strategic plan, oversight of budget and finances for the department, and providing leadership on judicial matters.Liaison work with the Office of Student Conduct, Off Campus Student Life, Counseling and Psychiatric Services, Human Resources, and the Department of Public Safety will be an important part of the position. The Associate Director serves as a member of the ERT and the Student Conduct Appeals Board. These responsibilities require the integration of the department's mission into practice, policy, and program. The Associate Director position requires master's degree and a minimum of 5-7 years full-time post-master's experience in higher education; experience in adjudicating conduct cases, and supervision of full-time staff is required. Leadership in regional or national associations is desirable. The Associate Director must also demonstrate a thorough understanding and commitment to the education and character development of university students.
