I grew up on the island of Jamaica, but I look forward to making a new home here in Washington, DC with the Hoyas. I’m very personable, so please feel free to stop me if you see me around or approach me with any questions you may have. I may not have all the answers as of yet, but I’ll try my best to help you find them.

Howdy Georgetown! I am glad to be welcoming you to the McCarthy community and look forward to getting to know you. A little bit about me . . .  I'm from Florence, Alabama, and I graduated from the University of Virginia with a B.A. in American Studies. I was a Jesuit Volunteer in Atlanta with 9to5, National Association for Working Women, and then completed my Master of Education degree at the University of Vermont, where I advised the Senior Class Council. I like to read, sing, write, cook, and find good places to get local food.  I'm a short distance runner; I love to cook and explore the outdoors alongside my better half, Dave. I'm looking forward to my second year in McCarthy and getting to know each of you. Stop by my office!

Hello Georgetown! It is good to be at this great institution and I am eager to work with this university. I was born in Texas and spent my childhood growing up in Beaufort, South Carolina, a place everyone should try to visit.  I received my bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the College of Charleston and I moved up to DC to receive a master’s degree in Higher Education Administration with a concentration in Student Affairs. I look forward to being a part of the staff and bringing some new flavor to Georgetown. I am thankful for the opportunity to work here and I know that we will have a very successful year.

I was born and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah and attended the University of Utah as an undergraduate where I received a Bachelors of Science in both Psychology and Mass Communications.  While an undergraduate student, I became an initiated member of the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity and worked full time as an Event Coordinator.  I left Utah to pursue my Master of Science in Higher Education Administration from Texas A&M University and graduated in 2006.  I’ve been at Georgetown University since fall 2006 and have bled blue and grey ever since.  Some of my areas of expertise include Leadership Development, Fraternity/Sorority Life, Group Facilitation and Judicial Affairs.  In my spare time I like to travel, hike, watch movies and am an amateur photographer.

Stephanie Lynch, Director

sjl28@georgetown.edu or 202-687-4056

I have grown up in several areas of the country including the Northeast, Southeast, Northwest, and Southwest; however, I would consider Boston, Seattle, and California my primary homes.  My work in Residence Life began over a decade ago as a Resident Assistant for my undergraduate institution- Central Washington University.  After my Maters Degree in Communications, I moved to California.  Just before coming to Georgetown, I served as the Associate Dean of Students at a business college.  I enjoy walking our dogs on The National Mall, gardening, and trying out new recipes.  This picture was taken at the Powerscourt Estate in Ireland.

I love to contra dance (a type of folk dancing), play piano and attend theater/cultural types of events. I recently moved to the DC area from Knoxville, Tennessee where I worked for a small non-profit organization. I'm very thankful to be a member of the Residence Life team at Georgetown and to live in the never dull Washington DC area!
