Welcome Week
Welcome to Residence Life at Georgetown University!
To give you some time to learn Georgetown and Washington, DC before training begins, the training committee has planned an optional Welcome Week of events. These events are designed to give you some time with your Area Coordinator, staff and colleagues, as well get some details done before training begins and your staff arrives. Please read below to learn more about the options available.
Once you have looked over the schedule, please RSVP to us by July 17, 2009 at reslife.georgetown.edu/prostaff.html with what events you will plan to attend, if any. You are also welcome to change your plans after you RSVP.
(P) symbol indicates an event which partners are welcome to join. Please notify us in the RSVP if your partner will be joining you.
Note: Patrick Lukingbeal has residence letters for those that need it for the DMV.
Tuesday, July 28
Benefits Orientation - (Healy Administration Building)
8:45am- 10:30am
Meet on the first floor of the Leavey Center at 8:45am; Aja will walk you all over.
(P) Welcome tour of Georgetown University
11:00am -1pm
Meets at the Leavey 5th floor desk
Take a tour of Georgetown University with a student staff and professional staff member in Residence Life. You can learn where colleague's offices are located as well as some of the history and traditions of Georgetown.
(P) Get keys and Go-Cards (during the tour) (If you don’t go on the tour meet at GoCard Office in Darnall)
11:45am-12:15pm
Go with some returning senior staff members to get any keys you may need and your Go-Card.
(P) Lunch and Introductions with the Office of Residence Life
1pm- 2pm
Leavey Program Room
Enjoy meeting your colleagues in Residence Life before training begins on August 3. The staff will enjoy lunch together and new staff will have the opportunity to meet their buddy - returning staff members who can help show you the ropes.

This time is available at the end of the day for new staff to ask questions and check in with your Area Coordinator.
Wednesday, July 29

How to Order Office Supplies- with your Area Coordinator
3-4pm
Area Coordinator Office
We will set up and demonstrate your accounts with Office Max - Georgetown's - office supply vendor. You will be able to order any supplies you need for your office.

Join colleagues from around Student Affairs in a social hour at the end of the work week. You will meet all these colleagues during training, so this is an opportunity to chat with them more informally.
